Our Beliefs
The Bible
The Bible is God's Holy Word. Holy men of old wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit, and their writings reveal God's divine plan for mankind.
God and Christ
"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."— 1 Timothy 2:5
God is eternal, without beginning or end, and possesses inherent immortality. Jesus Christ is God's only begotten Son who died as a ransom for all mankind. He preexisted as the "Word" through which all creation occurred.
Death and the Afterlife
Death is the result of sin. It represents life's cessation with no consciousness continuing. Death is a temporary sleep until Christ's return, when resurrection occurs and "this mortal will put on immortality."
The Grave (Hell)
"Hell" translates the Hebrew word "sheol" and the Greek word "hades" — both meaning the grave. After God's judgment, those refusing submission face "gehenna" (the lake of fire), typifying the complete annihilation of obstinate sinners, including Satan.
The Church
Members of the Church are "living temples of God" during the Gospel Age. The church comprises individuals who accept Jesus as their Savior, conform to His image, and together form His bride. As joint-heirs with Christ, they will reign eternally and serve as "lights" and "salt" in the world.
